AS/400 Systems Administrator

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled AS/400 Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring system performance, security, and reliability while providing support for users and applications running on these systems. This role will be full time, on site in downtown Portland.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain AS/400 and IBMi systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Perform system administration tasks including user profile management, access controls, and system security.
Implement and manage BRMS for backup and recovery processes.
Develop and maintain CL programming scripts to automate system tasks and processes.
Utilize DB2 and SQL queries for database management and reporting purposes.
Conduct system tuning and performance monitoring to enhance system efficiency.
Apply PTFs (Program Temporary Fixes) and updates to maintain system integrity and security.
Provide support for green-screen interfaces and troubleshoot issues as needed.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an AS/400 Systems Administrator or similar role.
Strong knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems and their administration.
Proficiency in CL programming and familiarity with green-screen interfaces.
Experience with BRMS, DB2, and SQL queries for database management.
Understanding of access controls and user profile management best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
