Senior Biologist - Generalist

Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Biologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in conducting biological assessments, vegetation mapping, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of CEQA and other application regulations such as 401/404/1602, ESA/CESA.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct vegetation mapping and jurisdictional delineation activities in various habitats.
Perform biological assessments and habitat evaluations as required by CEQA and CESA.
Technical writing to support CEQA reports.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and recommendations based on survey findings.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project compliance with environmental regulations.
Assist in wetland delineations and ecosystem analyses to inform project planning.
Conduct nesting bird surveys and other biological studies as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in biological consulting or related field.
Strong knowledge of vegetation mapping, CEQA, CESA, and native plant species.
Experience with environmental monitoring, field surveys, and jurisdictional delineations.
Proficient in data collection, report writing, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with ESA regulations and permitting processes.
