Position Overview:
A Fire Sprinkler Designer is responsible for designing and creating fire sprinkler systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires strong technical knowledge and proficiency in various design software to develop accurate and efficient fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed fire sprinkler system designs using industry-standard software such as NICET, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
- Conduct hydraulic calculations to determine water flow and pressure requirements for fire suppression systems
- Utilize MEP and Navisworks software to coordinate fire sprinkler designs with other building systems
- Review and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications to create accurate designs
- Stay updated on industry advancements, regulations, and best practices for fire sprinkler design
- Communicate with clients and project teams to provide design recommendations and address any design
-related issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire sprinkler design
- Proficiency in NICET and HydraCAD software
- Knowledge of sprinkler system design and fire protection design principles
- Familiarity with hydraulic calculations and MEP design
- Experience with AutoSPRINK and Navisworks is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of local and national building codes and regulations related to fire sprinkler design.
