Position Overview: The Controls Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role requires a strong knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, and electrical control systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in the water/wastewater industry and possess excellent technical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Conduct regular inspections and tests of control systems to ensure proper functioning
- Identify and diagnose issues with control systems, and implement solutions to resolve them
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for control systems
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to design and implement control system upgrades and improvements
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in control systems technology
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while performing job duties
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training in electrical or controls systems preferred
- 2+ years of experience working with control systems, preferably in the water/wastewater industry
- Strong knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, and electrical control systems
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and protocols
- Strong communication and teamwork skills- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different job sites as needed.
