Construction Litigation Attorney

Location: Center City, Philadelphia (Hybrid + Remote Flexibility)

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Construction Litigation Associate with experience in handling construction contract claims, both public and private. This position focuses on contract claims rather than construction defect work. The ideal candidate will have experience in arbitration and be capable of preparing cases for trial/arbitration, including participation in such proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage construction contract claims, including extras, delay damages, impact damages, and liquidated damages
Participate in arbitrations and trials, as well as preparing cases for these proceedings
Handle mechanic's lien law, stop notices, bid protests, public contract law, prompt payment law, and payment/performance bonds
Develop and execute discovery plans, including depositions of percipient and expert witnesses
Write motions, depositions, and letters regarding construction litigation issues
Interface professionally with clients, conveying competence in legal and strategic practical issues

Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in handling construction contract claims
Knowledge and experience with mechanic's lien law, stop notices, bid protests, public contract law, prompt payment law, and payment/performance bonds
Experience in arbitration and trial preparation
Knowledge of alternate project delivery methods
Deposition experience with both percipient and expert witnesses
Strong writing skills for motions, depositions, and litigation-related correspondence
Ability to work with clients and convey professionalism and competence in construction litigation
